Ginger Tea is a healthy, spicy and stimulating medicinal beverage prepared with ginger, lemon, honey and water and has a spicy, invigorating taste. It is a traditional folk remedy for getting relief from cold, flu, indigestion, nausea and sore throats.
Ingredients:
1 cup Water
1 teaspoon Ginger, finely chopped
2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
A pinch of salt or 2 teaspoons Honey
Directions:
Peel and cut ginger into small pieces or thin slices. You can also grate the ginger instead of chopping it.
Pour 1 cup water in a saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon chopped ginger. Bring it t a boil and then simmer it on low flame for 8-10 minutes.
Add 2 teaspoons lemon juice and a pinch of salt (or 2 teaspoons honey). Mix them using a spoon.
Strain boiled water through a tea strainer into a serving cup.
Tips and Variations:
You can use brown sugar or agave nectar instead of honey.
If you are preparing ginger tea for cold, ingestion or sore throat condition, then do not add sugar or honey, instead add a pinch of salt to make it tasty.
