Orange Sorbet
This one ingredient no sugar orange sorbet doesn’t require any cooking and is made without ice cream maker. In this recipe, sorbet is made using a blender and the process is also simple and quick. Just freeze the peeled orange segments for 2 hours, blend them in a blender, and voila – a frozen orange sorbet is ready to enjoy. This naturally sweet frozen orange treat can be served as a healthy dessert as no sugar is added.
Ingredients:
4 Oranges (choose sweeter ones)
Directions:
  1. Peel the oranges and remove the white stringy parts as much as possible.
  2. Separate into segments and remove the seeds (if not using seedless oranges). If you prefer, you can even remove the skin from segments.
  3. Take a baking tray or a plate and place orange segments on it.
  4. Freeze them for 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Remove the tray from the freezer and transfer the orange segments to a high-speed blender. (if you prefer, you can add sugar according to the sweetness of the oranges.)
  6. Blend until smooth. If required, scrape the sides using a spatula.
  7. Orange sorbet is ready.
  8. Transfer it to a container and serve into individual bowls. (If it is hard to make a perfect scoop while serving, let the sorbet melt a little bit.) Either serve it immediately or store it in an airtight container in a freezer for later use.
Tips and Variations:
  • Depending on the sweetness of the oranges, you can add sugar while blending the frozen orange segments.
  • For variation, add 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice while blending orange segments.
  • After peeling the oranges remove the white string parts as much as possible and don’t forget to remove the seeds from the orange segments. If you like, you can remove the skin from orange segments also to make super smooth sorbet. (I have used seedless oranges in this recipe).
Taste: Salty
Serving Ideas:  Serve orange sorbet in a hollowed-out whole orange or a bowl in the afternoon.
