Kale Juice
This green kale juice with apple is refreshing and has a mild sweet taste with the hint of a lemon. As kale is rich in vitamins (A, B-6, C, and K) and minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, it is beneficial for vision, skin, and heart. This recipe shows how you can easily make this juice in a blender (without a juicer). Just blend the kale, cucumber, apple, and celery into a blender and then strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or a cheesecloth, and kale juice is ready within minutes.
Ingredients:
2-3 Kale Leaves
1 small or 1/2 large Apple
1/2 Cucumber
1-2 sticks of Celery
1/4 cup Cilantro (fresh coriander leaves), optional
1/2 Lime or Lemon (approx. 1½ tablespoon Lemon Juice)
1/2 cup Water
Directions:
  1. Remove the stem from the kale leaves and cut them into big pieces. (if you prefer, you can keep the stem). Cut cucumber, apple, and celery into big pieces.
  2. Add all the chopped vegetables and cilantro(fresh coriander leaves) to the big jar of a blender.
  3. Add 1/2 cup water and squeeze out the 1/2 lemon or lime (approx. 1½ tablespoon lemon juice).
  4. Blend until smooth puree.
  5. Place a fine mesh sieve (or a cheesecloth) over a large bowl and pour the prepared puree over it.
  6. Strain the juice and discard the remaining fibrous pulp.
  7. Pour it into a serving glass and enjoy. It is recommended to consume this fresh juice immediately to get the maximum health nutrients. You can store this juice for a day in the refrigerator.
Tips and Variations:
  • To make kale juice in a juicer – process all the ingredients through a juicer to extract the juice. If you prefer, add 1/3 cup to 1/2 cup water to the prepared juice to dilute it.
  • For variation, add ginger.
  • You can use a pear or any other sweet juicy fruit instead of an apple.
