ABC Juice (apple beet carrot)

ABC Juice is a simple yet delicious juice that has three main ingredients, Apple, Beet, and Carrot with a hint of lemon and ginger. It has a refreshing sweet flavor from the carrot and apple, and a mild tangy flavor from the lemon. This nutrient packed juice has amazing health benefits on our body. It keeps you hydrated, helps in improving hemoglobin levels, and flushes out toxins when you drink this juice in the morning on an empty stomach. Whether you have a juicer or a blender, you can make this juice within minutes at home with this recipe.
Ingredients:
1 small or 1/2 large Apple (red or green)
1/2 small Beet, peeled and chopped
1 large or 2 small Carrots, chopped
1/2 small Lemon or Lime (approx. 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice)
1 inch piece of Ginger, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup Water
Directions:
  1. Cut apple, beetroot, and carrot into big pieces.
  2. Place 1 chopped apple, 1/2 chopped beetroot, and 1 large chopped carrot in the big jar of a blender or a mixer grinder. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice (juice from 1/2 small lime or lemon), 1 inch piece chopped ginger, and 1/2 cup water.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Take a large bowl and keep a fine metal strainer over it. Spread a cheesecloth over it and pour the prepared mixture.
  5. Gather the cloth from all the sides towards the center and twist and press it to squeeze out the juice. You can strain the juice using a nut milk bag as well.
  6. Discard the fibrous pulp. You can use this pulp to make paratha dough or add to soup as well.
  7. ABC juice is ready for serving.
  8. Pour the juice into serving glasses and serve immediately to get the maximum benefits. You can store this juice in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
Tips and Variations:
  • Make ABC juice in a juicer – Process all the ingredients through a juicer. Discard the pulp. Add 1/2 cup water to the prepared juice if you prefer the diluted juice.
  • Add 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves (cilantro) for variation.
  • If you don’t mind a little pulp in the juice, you can strain that with only a fine mesh strainer (instead of using cheesecloth).

Serving Ideas:  Serve this juice in the morning or the afternoon instead of tea or any other sugary drink.
