Hot Chocolate Mix
Have you ever thought about making a hot chocolate mix at home? It’s super easy to make this mixture using only 4 ingredients (cocoa powder, milk powder, powdered sugar, and salt). Mix all the ingredients and your homemade hot chocolate mix is ready!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsweetened Cocoa Powder (preferred dutch processed)
1/2 cup Milk Powder (dry milk)
1/2 cup powdered Sugar
A pinch of Salt
Directions:
  1. Take 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder in a large bowl.
  2. Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 cup milk powder (dry milk).
  3. Mix well using a spoon.
  4. Store it in an airtight container. It stays good for up to 6 months in a cool dry place like a pantry.
  5. To make 1 cup hot chocolate, take 1/4 cup chocolate mix in a cup. Add 1 cup hot milk or hot water to it and mix well.
Tips and Variations:
  • This recipe can be double or triple as needed.
  • How much hot chocolate mix per cup – Mix 1/4 cup hot chocolate mix with 1 cup hot milk (or hot water).
  • For 1 cup hot chocolate – mix 1 cup hot milk with 2.5 teaspoons cocoa powder, 5 teaspoons (1 tablespoon +2 teaspoons) milk powder, 5 teaspoons (1 tablespoon +2 teaspoons) powdered sugar and a dash of salt.
  • This hot chocolate mix stays good for up to 6 months in an airtight container in a cool and dry place at room temperature.
  • For more chocolatey flavor, add 1/4 cup semi-sweet white chocolate or brown chocolate, use only 1/3 cup sugar (instead of 1/2 cup) and use a food processor to mix all the ingredients.

Serving Ideas:  Mix 1/4 cup (or 3-4 tablespoons) hot chocolate mix with 1 cup hot milk or hot water to make hot chocolate and serve it hot during cold winter days.
